About the role#
We are looking for a motivated Co-op to join our Sensory Research & Development team. This 6-month program offers hands-on experience in sensory science, consumer research, and product development. You will work alongside Sensory Scientists and partners in Brewing, Quality Assurance, and Product Development to generate insights that inform business decisions.
What you'll do#
- Execute daily sensory panels, discrimination testing, descriptive analysis, stakeholder tastings, and drinker research.
- Prepare samples, maintain sensory labs, and ensure sensory best practices are followed.
- Support ongoing sensory science initiatives and research activities.
- Collect, manage, analyze, and report sensory data while maintaining databases and dashboards.
- Summarize findings and communicate insights to support project recommendations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support project timelines, cost-savings initiatives, and product development decisions.
- Lead an independent research project and present findings to stakeholders.
- Participate in team meetings and sensory learning sessions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Statistics, Data Science, Psychology, Biology, Sociology, or a related field.
- Must be enrolled in school after the completion of the co-op.
- Ability to commit to a 6-month internship.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Strong time management, organizational, multitasking, and data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with sensory testing methodologies and panel execution is preferred.
- Familiarity with sensory software such as Compusense or RedJade is preferred.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools like XLSTAT, JMP, SPSS, or SAS is preferred.
- Previous laboratory preparation or support experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based at our Boston Brewery in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.
- This is a fully on-site position requiring a daily commute.
- The program runs from January 4, 2027, through June 25, 2027.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
