About the role#
As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will help evaluate and support manufacturing operations. You will work alongside experienced engineers to identify areas for improvement in cycle time using Factory Physics theories. You will also participate in 5S and Lean manufacturing activities and use industry standard software to analyze performance gaps and develop findings reports. This role involves modeling factory performance to optimize equipment and processes to increase output.
What you'll do#
- Support FAB capacity modeling activities.
- Perform equipment throughput analysis in a clean room environment.
- Participate in production scheduling and dispatching rules development.
- Gather information to understand capacity analysis and production impact.
- Collect and validate operational performance data using analytic methods on automation and system logs.
- Support the automation of data extraction and manufacturing processes.
- Extract and analyze large data sets.
- Collaborate with team members across different functions.
- Develop basic applications to support manufacturing needs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, System Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
- Minimum cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA.
- Ability to work in a clean room environment while wearing a smock.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management skills to ensure on-time project delivery.
- Ability to build influential relationships and work effectively in teams.
- Initiative to drive for results.
