    About the role#

    Texas Instruments is hiring a Facilities Chemical Engineering Intern to support our semiconductor manufacturing operations. This role provides hands-on exposure to the complex chemical and gas distribution systems that power our factory. You will work alongside experienced engineers to maintain system reliability, manage project lifecycles, and ensure our infrastructure meets design specifications.

    What you'll do#

    • Gain technical exposure to high-purity acid, base, and solvent systems, as well as inert, flammable, and corrosive gases.
    • Learn about critical hardware including Chemical Distribution Units, Valve Manifold Boxes, Gas Cabinets, and Cryogenic Tanks.
    • Assist with the maintenance and development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Support system capacity reviews, troubleshooting, and performance assessments.
    • Participate in reliability tasks such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Root Cause Analysis.
    • Assist in the design, installation oversight, and commissioning of factory-wide distribution systems.
    • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and various engineering disciplines to manage project timelines and budgets.
    • Help track project financials, including purchase orders and capital forecasts.
    • Support the management of de-ionized and ultrapure water systems.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Chemical Engineering.
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher.
    • A basic understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or chemical properties.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication abilities.
    • A commitment to safety and operational excellence.
    • An interest in semiconductor manufacturing, industrial utility systems, or large-scale facility operations.
