About the role#
As a Quality Engineering Intern, you will support the production of high-quality products by improving process and product quality. You will analyze manufacturing data, communicate recommendations to leadership, and work to solve problems in a production environment.
What you'll do#
- Monitor manufacturing processes and maintain quality data systems.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.
- Perform design engineering analysis and review technical documentation.
- Manage root cause analysis and define problems using 8D and RCA methods.
- Use Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles to develop new processes.
- Collaborate across teams to meet established quality standards.
- Detect non-conformances using SPC systems and Change Control management.
- Maintain product standards by managing Control Plans, Inspection Standards, and Visual Work Instructions.
- Coordinate Failure Mode Effects Analysis and review product design specifications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior internship experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a team environment.
- Evidence of completing assignments successfully.
Location & details#
- Term: Winter 2027 (January/February through May).
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week) on-site.
- Locations: Fremont, CA; Austin, TX; Buffalo, NY; Lathrop, CA; Sparks, NV.
- Compensation: $27.76 to $43.75 per hour plus benefits.
