About the role#
This co-op position supports research into sustainable polymer technologies. You will work with scientists and engineers to evaluate the stabilization and colorability of polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) resins. This role offers hands-on laboratory experience and contributes to ongoing research for future product development.
What you'll do#
- Run laboratory experiments focused on PHB stabilization and colorability.
- Prepare formulations and process polymer samples.
- Collect, analyze, and document experimental data.
- Test material performance and properties.
- Present research findings and recommendations to the technical team.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and follow all safety procedures.
- Support ongoing R&D projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program for Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, Plastics Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong laboratory and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and good documentation habits.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in sustainable materials and polymer development.
- Coursework in polymers, chemistry, or materials science.
- Previous laboratory or research experience.
- Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and instrumentation.

- This is a paid, full-time position.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
