About the role#
The Scientist Intern position provides a practical learning experience for students pursuing degrees in Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical fields. You will work under the supervision of a mentor to assist with projects involving process improvement, product testing, data analysis, and technical documentation. This role offers exposure to manufacturing processes, quality systems, and research initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Support technical projects focused on process optimization, testing, or data collection.
- Conduct laboratory or production floor work while following safety and quality protocols.
- Assist engineers with equipment setup, sampling, experimental trials, and data entry.
- Collect and analyze operational or experimental data to support process improvement.
- Document results, observations, and technical reports.
- Participate in problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and Operations.
- Prepare presentations or summaries of technical findings.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Materials Science Engineering.
- Strong academic performance in technical coursework.
- Previous internship, co-op, or laboratory experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, product development, or testing methods.
- Ability to apply analytical thinking to identify root causes.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to follow safety guidelines and manage multiple tasks.
