About the role#
Geon Performance Solutions is hiring an Engineering Intern to support our plastics manufacturing operations. This role provides a practical learning experience for students interested in process improvement, product testing, and technical documentation. You will work under the guidance of a mentor to gain exposure to our research and manufacturing systems.
What you'll do#
- Support technical projects focused on process optimization, testing, and data collection.
- Conduct laboratory or production floor work while following all safety protocols.
- Assist engineers with equipment setup, sampling, and experimental trials.
- Collect and analyze operational data to support improvement initiatives.
- Document your findings and prepare technical reports.
- Participate in problem-solving sessions with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and Operations.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Bachelor degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Materials Science Engineering.
- Strong academic performance in technical coursework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn specialized software and lab tools.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous internship, co-op, or laboratory experience is a plus.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to follow procedures and safety guidelines.
