About the role#
The Mining Systems Co-op role provides an opportunity to work on the deployment and support of mining systems across our mine sites. You will contribute to operational improvements through troubleshooting, data analytics, and project work. This position involves on-site visits, participation in proof of concepts, and the creation of performance reports.
What you'll do#
- Act as a safety leader by following and promoting all safety and environmental procedures.
- Support the deployment and sustainment of Autonomous Mining and Drilling Systems.
- Assist with conventional mining systems, including GNSS Base Stations, collision avoidance systems, and OT virtual machines.
- Develop and deliver KPI reports for operational data analysis and validation.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, such as Visio diagrams and ServiceNow workflows.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Canadian post-secondary institution with a plan to return to studies for at least one academic term after the co-op.
- Background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Senior student status, with preference for late 3rd or 4th year.
- Fundamental knowledge of computer networking (IP, DHCP, DNS), computer systems (Active Directory, Domains), and database systems (SQL).
- Ability to work in an industrial environment and willingness to get hands dirty.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Must complete a pre-employment drug test.
