About the role#
The Store Executive Intern program is a paid, 40-hour per week training experience designed to prepare you for store leadership. Over the course of the summer, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role by working alongside mentors and other managers. You will spend your time on the sales floor and in the backroom, learning how Target operates and what it takes to lead a retail team.
What you'll do#
- Drive guest experience and impact store performance.
- Work alongside a mentor to lead their department.
- Plan daily goals and organize tasks within the building.
- Provide summaries of results and priorities to your peer and leadership teams.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by assisting shoppers and ensuring team members are knowledgeable.
- Lead and support daily operations, including stocking shelves and building displays.
- Partner with leaders to provide performance feedback and address team concerns.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in working in retail management.
- Leadership skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills.
- The ability to manage your workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Previous retail experience is preferred.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds and access all areas of the building.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- Positions are available in Tucson and Oro Valley, Arizona.
- The pay range for this role is $24.50 to $25.75 per hour.
