About the role#
This is a paid, full-time, 40-hour per week summer internship designed to prepare you for a career in store leadership. You will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role by working alongside mentors and store managers. You will spend your time leading teams, managing store priorities, and delivering guest service across multiple areas of the business.
What you'll do#
- Lead and motivate a team while driving sales and merchandising products.
- Partner with mentors to teach, coach, and provide performance feedback to team members.
- Review business reports and guest insights to identify and troubleshoot areas for improvement.
- Execute daily operations, including stocking shelves and building displays.
- Collaborate with peers to develop an understanding of retail business functions.
- Address team member concerns and remove hurdles to ensure smooth operations.
- Lead daily huddles and organize plans to meet store goals.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and team-oriented thinking.
- Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or Human Resources.
Location & details#
This role is on-site at various locations in Wisconsin, including Madison, Fitchburg, Schofield, Janesville, Sun Prairie, Stevens Point, and Marshfield. This is a summer 2027 program.
