About the role#
The Nurse Extern position at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare offers nursing students a chance to gain clinical experience. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to build your skills and learn more about patient care. This is a paid, part-time role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Perform delegated basic patient care services.
- Assist patients with their daily living activities.
- Maintain an environment that supports patient safety.
- Build your clinical knowledge and practical skills.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited registered nursing program.
- Completion of at least one clinical semester of the core curriculum.
- An active American Heart Association CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider card.
- Ability to work at least 32 hours per month.
- Availability to work one weekend shift per month.
- Availability to work one major summer holiday and one major winter holiday.
- Ability to attend a full week of mandatory hospital orientation, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
