About the role#
As a Strategic Marketing Pursuits Intern, you will work with the team responsible for acquiring new business. You will support proposal development, create marketing materials, and coordinate with teams across the organization. This role offers hands-on experience in how we communicate our qualifications and differentiate our services in a competitive market. You will gain exposure to our projects, people, and the pursuit lifecycle while developing skills in professional writing, graphic layout, and project coordination.
What you'll do#
- Assist with active proposals, qualifications packages, and other pursuit deliverables.
- Format content such as resumes, project sheets, and proposal sections using established templates.
- Proofread and perform quality control to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Conduct basic research on clients, projects, markets, and competitors.
- Help develop and update marketing collateral, including flyers, one-pagers, and presentations.
- Support graphic layout and document production tasks.
- Maintain and update marketing databases, including Unanet CRM, and organize project information or photography.
- Assist with the preparation of materials for client events, trade shows, and conferences.
- Prepare presentation materials, including PowerPoint decks and handouts, and support rehearsal logistics.
- Participate in pursuit meetings, strategy discussions, and team reviews.
- Attend jobsite visits and shadow professionals in Business Development and Operations to learn about the construction industry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Business Administration, or Graphic Design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a willingness to carefully review and proofread work.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines with guidance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and PowerPoint.
- Interest in developing skills in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign.
- Ability to work both independently on defined tasks and collaboratively within a team.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Professional judgment and reliability.
