About the role#
As a Project Engineer Intern at Swinerton Builders, you will assist in the administration of our field offices. Your work supports the project team in meeting profitability and schedule goals. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Update and maintain project drawings, specifications, and logs.
- Prepare document distributions for subcontractors.
- Assist with processing submittals and RFIs while maintaining their respective logs.
- Help maintain and update CPM schedules.
- Assist with determining weekly labor production quantities.
- Input data for labor cost reports and field quantity surveys.
- Maintain the project filing system and expediting logs.
- Support Affirmative Action program documentation.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the project team.
What you'll need#
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or be currently enrolled in one of these programs.
- The ability to read and understand project plans and specifications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A self-starting attitude with the ability to use independent judgment.
- Basic estimating and scheduling skills are desirable, as are drafting and computer skills.

- Locations: Concord, Fairfield, San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Clara, Santa Ana, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Oakland, and Fresno, California; Boise, Idaho; Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina; New York, New York; Atlanta, Georgia; Honolulu, Hawaii; Bellevue and Spokane, Washington; Austin and Dallas, Texas; Arvada, Colorado; and Jersey City, New Jersey.
- Compensation: The hourly rate ranges from $19.00 to $35.00, depending on your specific geographic work location.
- Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Housing or relocation assistance is not provided for interns in the San Diego, Santa Ana, Los Angeles, New York, or Hawaii divisions.
