About the role#
As an Application Security Intern at SWBC, you will gain hands-on experience by working directly with our team in San Antonio. You will shadow experienced professionals, learn new technical skills, and contribute to real projects within the financial services industry. We prioritize mentorship and provide an environment where you can develop your professional capabilities through active participation in our daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Shadow team members to learn technical workflows and expand your knowledge base.
- Assist in the preparation of measurement reports that track the results of your team.
- Apply your academic knowledge to solve practical problems.
- Gain hands-on experience in application security within a corporate IT environment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Cyber Security, Information Systems, Business Management, Risk or Emergency Management, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2026 or later.
- Familiarity with secure software development practices, DevSecOps, and the OWASP Top 10.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
- Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with tools like GitHub Advanced Security or Burp Suite is preferred.
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages is preferred.
