About the role#
As an Estimating Intern, you will serve as an integral team member by assisting our estimators in preparing bids and budgets for heavy civil and highway construction projects. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry while working alongside experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Support the estimating team with daily operations.
- Perform basic plan reading and quantity takeoffs.
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes.
- Analyze historical production and cost data.
- Assist with project budget and cost tracking.
- Attend prebid and owner meetings, as well as project bid reviews.
- Conduct project site visits.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university, with at least one class taken in the semester or quarter prior to participation.
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of general construction practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from our main office.
