About the role#
The On-Site Support (OSS) team manages end user computing for the organization. This includes hardware, operating systems, enterprise applications, and mobile devices. You will work to meet service response and restoration targets while fulfilling service requests and hardware upgrades. This role is a full-time position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Deploy Windows and Mac PCs for end users.
- Organize and execute the PC refresh strategy for desktops and notebooks.
- Coordinate and schedule refresh activities based on user availability.
- Configure standard desktop and notebook hardware.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and manage the lifecycle of computing assets.
- Troubleshoot and provide post-upgrade support to ensure quick resolution for clients.
- Participate in software and hardware deployment projects, including operating system upgrades, security software rollouts, and enterprise application implementations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Cybersecurity with a graduation date of April 2027 or later.
- Knowledge of PC operating systems (Windows and Mac), hardware repair, and device connectivity including TCP/IP and network adapter configuration.
- Understanding of network systems (WAN, LAN, VPN) and telephony.
- Experience with enterprise software tools like MS Office365 and Lotus Notes.
- Proven customer experience with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, plan, and prioritize goals.
- Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory Services and SCCM is an asset.
- Ability to obtain Government Reliability Status Clearance, which includes a law enforcement inquiry and a credit check.
