Summit is seeking a People Operations (HR) Intern for a six-month, full-time summer internship. This role provides hands-on experience across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, payroll support, compliance, and HR systems. You will work with both data and employee processes to develop organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a primary point of contact for new hires, guiding them through pre-employment and onboarding.
- Support employee communications, including surveys and performance check-ins.
- Maintain compliance documentation, track training, and prepare for audits.
- Liaise with state agencies to resolve discrepancies and manage labor law updates.
- Conduct pre-payroll audits of timesheets, PTO, and bonuses to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with benefits enrollments and system updates.
- Maintain and update HRIS data, workflows, and internal knowledge base documentation.
- Support employer branding initiatives and cross-functional projects across HR, Finance, and Compliance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive, confidential information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, proactive approach to managing multiple priorities.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills and familiarity with HR systems.

- This is a remote position based in the United States.
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2026.
