About the role#
Summit is seeking a People Operations (HR) Intern for a six-month, full-time summer 2026 role. This position offers hands-on experience across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, payroll support, compliance, and HR systems. You will work remotely and contribute to day-to-day operations while developing analytical and organizational skills.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a primary point of contact for new hires, guiding them through pre-employment and onboarding processes.
- Support employee communications, surveys, and performance check-ins.
- Maintain compliance documentation, including labor law updates, training tracking, and audit preparation.
- Conduct pre-payroll audits of timesheets, PTO, and bonuses to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain and update HRIS data, workflows, and internal knowledge base documentation.
- Assist with cross-functional projects involving HR, Finance, and Compliance teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive, confidential information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills and familiarity with HR systems.
