    About the role#

    This is a part-time externship opportunity for students currently enrolled in or completing a medical assistant program. You will work on-site in Glastonbury, Connecticut, to gain practical experience in a neurology setting. This role is paid and follows a rolling schedule.

    What you'll do#

    As an extern, you will shadow a preceptor and assist with daily operations in both administrative and clinical capacities. Your responsibilities include:

    • Greeting and escorting patients throughout the facility.
    • Managing patient flow and performing clerical tasks like answering phones and burning CDs.
    • Handling medical equipment and restocking supplies.
    • Taking vital signs and performing height and weight measurements.
    • Conducting EKGs and point of care rapid testing.
    • Performing urinalysis, urine culture, and pregnancy testing.
    • Documenting quality control and maintaining infection control standards.
    • Practicing patient and staff experience initiatives.
