About the role#
STV is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This position is based in Boston and follows a hybrid work model. You will work alongside experienced engineers on projects including public transit terminals, municipal buildings, and commercial facilities. This is a paid, full-time internship.
What you'll do#
- Support and receive mentorship in all areas of building and facility electrical design.
- Conduct field surveys, perform engineering calculations, and complete CAD tasks.
- Prepare AC and DC single-line diagrams, control schematics, and wiring drawings.
- Design grounding grids, lightning protection, lighting, and power distribution systems.
- Develop designs for power, lighting, and fire alarm systems using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Coordinate utility service layouts and power system distributions.
- Assist with technical proposals and project documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
- Intermediate proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation software.
- Ability to learn and use commercial AC power system analysis software.
- Prior experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction management industry is preferred.
