About the role#
STV is looking for a Construction Management Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This role is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to work alongside our experienced staff on projects including commercial, aviation, and federal work. We prefer candidates who can commit to a full-time schedule for at least 3 months.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily on-site oversight of construction activities and track project progress.
- Conduct on-site observations of contractor work to identify quality issues, deficiencies, or deviations from project plans.
- Monitor contractor compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
- Review plans and specifications to understand project requirements and identify potential issues.
- Assist in determining the need for changes or additional work based on field conditions.
- Coordinate with contractors to track the schedule of work and upcoming activities.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, inspection records, and project documentation.
- Attend weekly project meetings and document updates, action items, and outstanding issues.
- Support the project team with field documentation and general construction management activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in construction, project management, or a similar field.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and procedures.
- Understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
- Basic knowledge of scheduling software, budgeting, and cost control principles.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
- Understanding of sustainable building practices and LEED certification.
- Previous internship or relevant experience in construction management is preferred.
