About the role#
We are looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team for the winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in Chicago. You will work alongside our experienced staff to support various infrastructure projects from initial concept through completion.
What you'll do#
- Assist with engineering designs and project development.
- Conduct site investigations, risk assessments, and feasibility studies.
- Prepare technical reports, project narratives, and development applications.
- Use software including AutoCAD and Civil 3D to produce design work.
- Collaborate with environmental engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders.
- Interface with contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Apply current engineering standards and procedures to your daily tasks.
- Assist with the preparation of technical proposals and project documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
- Experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction management industry.
- Knowledge of design software such as MicroStation, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or Open Roads Designer.
- Ability to work in the office at least 3 days per week.
