About the role#
As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will support engineers and designers with the analysis, design, detailing, assessment, and rehabilitation of building and infrastructure systems. You will gain hands-on experience with structural materials, calculations, modeling tools, and construction documents while contributing to active assignments under the guidance of experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Assist with structural calculations, models, drawings, details, reports, and other project documentation.
- Support the analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and related structural systems.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, field observations, and coordination with design and construction teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of coursework in statics, mechanics of materials, structural analysis, or design.
- Basic understanding of structural systems and engineering calculations.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or structural analysis tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous internship, co-op, research, or project experience related to structural engineering is preferred.
- Familiarity with RISA, RAM, Mathcad, or similar software is a plus.
- Involvement in ASCE, SEI, or related engineering organizations is preferred.

- This position is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
- The role is on-site.
- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
