About the role#
The Laboratory Intern supports daily operations in our pharmaceutical facility. You will work under the direction of experienced staff to assist with sample preparation, inventory control, and general testing support. This position offers hands-on experience with Good Documentation Practices, aseptic technique, and cGMP requirements.
What you'll do#
- Receive, label, and organize laboratory samples.
- Prepare media, reagents, and dilutions for testing.
- Support environmental monitoring and sample staging.
- Maintain laboratory logs, cleaning records, and inventory.
- Document equipment usage and monitor temperature logs.
- Perform basic housekeeping and waste disposal.
- Enter and verify laboratory data.
- Escalate equipment alarms or atypical observations to staff.
- Follow all safety policies and use required PPE.
- Participate in training and job shadowing.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in or completion of coursework toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
- Previous experience in a laboratory, pharmacy, healthcare, or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to learn and follow SOPs and cGMP requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry.
- Familiarity with LIMS or ELN platforms.
- Understanding of aseptic technique and laboratory safety.
Location & details#
- Location: Columbus, Ohio.
- This is an on-site, paid, full-time role.
- The term is rolling.
- You must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- The role may require occasional weekend, holiday, or off-shift work.
