About the role#
The Supply Chain Intern program is an 11-week, full-time, paid opportunity based in Ontario, California. This role offers hands-on experience in the daily operations of a large fulfillment center. You will work directly with experienced supervisors to gain a practical understanding of warehouse management and logistics. This position is designed for students seeking a foundational start to a career in supply chain management.
What you'll do#
- Shadow supervisors to learn core warehouse management tasks, including safety protocols and inventory control.
- Assist with daily operations across departments such as order picking, restocking, bulk selecting, material handling, shipping, and receiving.
- Support and train team members, including pickers and custodians, to help meet productivity and quality standards.
- Contribute to health and safety enforcement to maintain a secure work environment.
- Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock takes, and daily audits.
- Support warehouse optimization through lean practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the team to resolve operational issues and ensure timely shipments.
- Prepare and present reports on key performance indicators and project status updates.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss operational improvements and achievements.
- Take on special projects and tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student (minimum 12 credits) pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Status as a rising junior or senior with an expected graduation date of May 2028 or May 2029.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly and work in environments with excessive temperatures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with a diverse team.
- Ability to follow instructions and a strong interest in learning new skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
