About the role#
This is a full-time Mechanical Engineering internship based in New York City for the Summer 2027 term. You will work under the direct supervision of senior engineers and designers to support projects for public and private sector clients. You will gain hands-on experience in mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, piping, chillers, and boilers across various facility types.
What you'll do#
- Assist mechanical engineers and designers with reports, design documents, and calculations.
- Run engineering calculations using Excel and HVAC design software.
- Create HVAC and plumbing drawings and details using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Apply fundamental engineering principles to solve technical problems.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on project tasks.
- Participate in a Summer Intern Design Project alongside interns from other building design disciplines.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor or master degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and heat transfer calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Capability to handle tight deadlines and solve problems using sound engineering judgment.
- Commitment to maintaining a culture of safety.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Modality: This position is on-site and requires the ability to report to the office in New York City.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
