About the role#
This is a full-time internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within the mechanical discipline under the supervision of a Senior Designer or Engineer. You will contribute to projects for various public and private sector clients, including work on HVAC, plumbing, piping, and industrial systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist Building Mechanical Engineers and Designers with reports, design documents, and calculations.
- Perform engineering calculations using Excel and HVAC design software.
- Create HVAC and plumbing drawings and details using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Participate in a Summer Intern Design Project alongside interns from other building design disciplines.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and heat transfer calculations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and solve problems using sound engineering judgment.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to a culture of safety.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Butler, Pennsylvania.
- The role requires 40 hours per week.
- Some fieldwork may be required.
