About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work within a team of engineers on projects for public and private sector clients. You will perform tasks to develop your technical skills in the electrical discipline under the direct supervision of an experienced engineer. This role involves assisting with the design of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and fire alarms for various facilities.
What you'll do#
- Prepare contract drawings, calculations, specifications, and schedules from conceptual design to construction documents.
- Use software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Excel to produce project documentation.
- Participate in a Summer Intern Design Project alongside interns from other disciplines.
- Coordinate with cross-discipline professionals on assigned projects.
- Ensure the quality of project deliverables while following department production guidelines.
- Apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems.
- Support team operations and contribute to the company health and safety culture.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Working knowledge of basic electrical engineering principles and calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF editing software like Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam.
- Ability to learn and develop a working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong work ethic, motivation to learn, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems using professional judgment and creativity.
- Commitment to a culture of safety and the ability to take initiative on tasks.

- Location: Rochester, New York, United States.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site (primarily office-based with some potential field work).
