    About the role#

    As a Family Activity Centre Facilitator, you will serve as a representative for Upper Canada Village, one of Ontario’s internationally recognized tourism sites. You will work directly with guests to provide an engaging, historical experience while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all visitors and staff.

    What you'll do#

    • Welcome guests to the Family Activity Centre, provide orientations, and explain or animate various exhibits.
    • Lead historical workshops and demonstrations using crafts, music, drama, games, historical tools, and costumes.
    • Assist with Camp Counsellor duties and support school programs as required.
    • Perform operational tasks such as obtaining supplies, cleaning, and conducting research to answer visitor questions.
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and report any unsafe activities to your supervisor immediately.
    • Embody the organization’s equity, diversity, and inclusion principles in all interactions.

    What you'll need#

    • Strong communication skills, with a specific ability to engage effectively with children.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead workshops and explain 19th-century historical activities, including crafts, music, and games.
    • Knowledge of 19th-century Ontario history.
    • Ability to learn and follow site-specific policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
    • A valid emergency first aid certificate or the ability to obtain one.
    • Ability to wear a modern uniform.
    • Successful completion of a vulnerable service sector check.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Upper Canada Village, South Dundas, Ontario.
    • Term: Summer 2026 (June to August).
    • Hours: Full-time, variable up to 36.25 hours per week.
    • Compensation: $18.45 per hour.
    • Priority consideration will be given to applications received by February 27, 2026.
