About the role#
This internship provides an immersive, hands-on experience in the culture, service, sales, and operations of our distribution centers. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of how we distribute roofing materials and building commodities. This program is designed for students who may be interested in joining our full-time Management Trainee Program after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the daily operations of a distribution center under the guidance of the Branch Manager.
- Master key functions including receiving and moving product, loading trucks, dispatch, delivery, customer service, and order entry.
- Shadow an experienced Territory Manager to learn about outside sales.
- Lead strategic projects and present your outcomes to executive leadership.
- Engage in a 10 to 12-week, full-time internship.
- Participate in a required three-day visit to our corporate headquarters.
- Perform occasional physical tasks, such as lifting building materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program, such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
- Expected graduation within two semesters following the internship.
- A track record of work experience and leadership in school or previous jobs.
- Strong references that validate your work ethic.
- Proficiency with computers and strong organizational and time management skills.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, a driving record check, and a pre-employment drug test.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
