About the role#
This internship provides an immersive, hands-on experience in the operations and culture of a wholesale building materials distribution center. You will work directly with the Branch Manager and the local team to understand the logistics of roofing materials and building commodities. This program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in operations or management after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to daily operations including product receiving, order entry, and warehouse logistics.
- Shadow an experienced Territory Manager to gain insight into outside sales.
- Lead projects of strategic importance and present your findings to executive leadership.
- Travel to corporate headquarters for a 3-day visit to share project results.
- Perform physical tasks as needed, including the occasional lifting of building materials up to 25 pounds.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Marketing.
- Expected graduation within two semesters of the internship completion.
- A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug test.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
