About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern, you will support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency. You will work with cross-functional teams to analyze manufacturing processes, collect and evaluate production data, and assist in implementing improvements. This role provides exposure to manufacturing engineering principles, lean techniques, and project management while working on initiatives that drive results.
What you'll do#
- Conduct time studies and work measurement analyses to identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Analyze manufacturing processes, workflows, and material movement.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen events, and waste reduction projects.
- Collect, organize, and analyze production data to identify trends.
- Assist with capacity analysis, labor utilization studies, and process optimization projects.
- Participate in layout evaluations and workflow improvements.
- Develop and maintain standard work documentation, process maps, and standard operating procedures.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.
- Implement manufacturing process improvements and monitor project results.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.
- Completed at least one year of studies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Interest in manufacturing operations and process improvement.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes is a plus.
