About the role#
This is a 12-month co-op or internship position with the Systems, Software & Solutions team in Calgary. You will join a project team to work on configuration, system design, and application development. This role focuses on integrated solutions within the Machinery Performance business unit. You will gain experience in commissioning, testing, and system start-up.
What you'll do#
- Apply and implement PLC or DCS systems, including I/O signal configuration, control logic, and HMI screen creation.
- Document control strategies and system configurations.
- Troubleshoot code and configuration to modify or fix issues.
- Perform internal and external Hardware and Software Acceptance Testing.
- Support the team during system shutdown and start-up activities.
- Maintain development and test equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student in Electrical, Instrument, Computer, or Chemical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of control system programming languages like PLC ladder logic, Function Block Diagrams, or Structured Text.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Familiarity with engineering documents such as P&IDs, I/O lists, and Single Line Diagrams.
- Experience with customer service in an industrial environment.

- Location: Calgary, Alberta.
- Term: Fall 2026 start (12-month duration).
- This position is full-time and on-site.
- This is a paid position.
- This role is classified as safety-sensitive and requires a pre-employment alcohol and drug test, as well as a security background check.
