    About the role#

    SpaceWorks Enterprises is looking for Electrical Engineering interns for the Winter 2027 term. You will join a small team of engineers to design, build, and test components for spacecraft, reentry capsules, and hypersonic flight systems. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Atlanta.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform conceptual design of avionics subsystems for spacecraft and aircraft.
    • Size power systems and select components for various hardware.
    • Conduct design trade studies to evaluate system performance.
    • Develop printed circuit boards, wiring harnesses, and avionics assemblies.
    • Manage the full design cycle, including requirements definition, prototyping, verification, and production release.
    • Design and analyze analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for power, command and control, communication, and propulsion subsystems.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    • Hands-on experience with circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and verification testing.
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the internship term.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
    • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, version control systems, and modeling in Python or MATLAB.
    • Ability to apply first-principles to simplify systems and perform rough sizing calculations.
    • Skill in creating and interpreting engineering drawings and writing technical reports.
    • Involvement in campus organizations or personal passion projects.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • U.S. citizenship is required, as you must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

    • Work Modality: 100% on-site.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (January through April).
    • Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
