About the role#
Join the Audiology Research Centre Canada team at Sonova. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting clinical research for emerging hearing technology and upcoming product launches. You will work alongside research audiologists to support participant coordination, testing, and data collection.
What you'll do#
- Support clinical research to assess product readiness before a launch.
- Assist with participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, and study visits.
- Prepare hearing devices, test equipment, software, and laboratory spaces for research sessions.
- Perform audiological assessments during participant screening.
- Support experimental assessments, including speech-in-noise testing, subjective assessments, and home-trial questionnaires.
- Orient participants to hearing aid features, mobile applications, and study questionnaires.
- Provide support to participants during field-trial portions of research studies.
- Assist with research data entry, documentation, and reporting.
- Collaborate with research audiologists and other team members.
What you'll need#
- Currently completing or recently completed graduate-level training in Audiology or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of audiological assessments, hearing aids, and hearing science.
- Strong interest in clinical research, hearing technology, and evidence-based audiology.
- Eligibility for registration with the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners of Ontario as a Hearing Instrument Specialist upon completion of training.
- Ability to interact with research participants in a professional and supportive manner.
- Strong organizational skills, dependability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow research procedures and document information accurately.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Kitchener, Ontario, and requires on-site work.
- This is a paid, part-time internship with a rolling term.
- Hours vary based on research activities and project needs, providing flexibility for other commitments.
