About the role#
This full-time Co-op position offers hands-on experience in consulting engineering. The assignment begins in mid-May 2027 and requires a commitment through late November or early December 2027. You will receive an initial orientation and training period, followed by on-the-job training alongside full-time staff. You will interact with construction managers, contractors, and design professionals while gaining exposure to geotechnical engineering, environmental remediation, pavement design, and materials evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Support field construction quality control activities.
- Assess and evaluate project materials, including soils, concrete, and asphalt.
- Assist in the adherence to project specifications.
- Perform field evaluations and quality control testing.
- Gain direct exposure to consulting engineering practices.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Basic computer literacy for field work, communication, and report generation.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions, including standing, stooping, or kneeling for long periods and walking on uneven terrain.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
- A commitment to safety standards and an enthusiasm for learning.
