About the role#
This full-time Civil Engineering Co-op position offers hands-on experience in consulting engineering practices. The assignment runs from mid-May 2027 through late November or early December 2027. You will work alongside full-time staff, contractors, and design professionals to gain exposure to geotechnical engineering, environmental remediation, pavement design, and materials evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Support field construction quality control activities.
- Assess and evaluate project materials including soils, concrete, and asphalt.
- Assist engineering staff with field evaluations and quality control testing.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Engage with construction managers and contractors on various project types.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.
- Basic computer literacy for field work, communication, and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
- Physical capability to sit, stand, stoop, or kneel for long periods and lift up to 60 pounds.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with a focus on safety and teamwork.
