About the role#
This full-time co-op position offers hands-on experience in consulting engineering practices. The assignment begins in mid-May 2027 and requires a full-time commitment through early December 2027. You will work alongside engineering staff, construction managers, and contractors to gain exposure to various construction techniques and project types.
What you'll do#
- Support field construction quality control activities.
- Assess and evaluate project materials, including soils and concrete.
- Assist engineering staff with field evaluations and quality control testing.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Gain direct exposure to consulting engineering practices in areas such as geotechnical engineering and materials evaluation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering degree program.
- Basic computer literacy for field work, communication, and report generation.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 50 to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors on construction sites in various weather conditions, including sitting, standing, stooping, or kneeling for extended periods.
- Ability to walk and work on uneven terrain.
