About the role#
This full-time Co-op position provides an introduction to consulting engineering practices. The assignment begins in mid-May 2027 and requires a commitment through late November or early December 2027. You will participate in an initial orientation and training period, followed by on-the-job training alongside full-time team members. Throughout the term, you will interact with construction managers, contractors, and design professionals while gaining exposure to geotechnical engineering, environmental remediation, pavement design, and materials evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Support field construction quality control activities.
- Assess and evaluate project materials, including soils, concrete, and asphalt.
- Work closely with SME team members and contractors to ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Assist engineering staff with field evaluations and quality control testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering program.
- Basic computer literacy for field work, communication, and report generation.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 50 to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including standing, stooping, or kneeling for long periods and working on uneven terrain.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
- A commitment to safety and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
