About the role#
This full-time co-op position offers hands-on experience in consulting engineering. The program begins in mid-May 2027 and requires a full-time commitment through late November or early December 2027. You will participate in an initial orientation and training period, followed by on-the-job training alongside full-time team members. This role provides exposure to various construction techniques, project types, and interactions with construction managers, contractors, and design professionals.
What you'll do#
- Support field construction quality control activities.
- Assess and evaluate project materials, including soils, concrete, and asphalt.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Perform field evaluations and quality control testing.
- Gain exposure to consulting engineering practices in geotechnical engineering, environmental remediation, pavement design, and materials evaluation.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Basic computer literacy for field work, communications, and report generation.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and samples weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work outside at construction sites in various weather conditions, including standing, stooping, kneeling, and walking on uneven terrain.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- A commitment to safety and an enthusiasm for learning.
