About the role#
This Civil Engineering Co-op position offers hands-on experience in consulting engineering practices. The assignment begins in mid-May 2027 and requires a full-time commitment through late November or early December 2027. You will participate in an initial orientation and training period before working alongside full-time team members on various construction projects. This role involves direct interaction with construction managers, contractors, and design professionals.
What you'll do#
- Support field construction quality control activities.
- Perform field evaluations and quality control testing.
- Assess and evaluate project materials, including soils and concrete.
- Assist in the adherence to project specifications.
- Gain exposure to consulting engineering practices in areas such as geotechnical engineering, environmental remediation, and materials evaluation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering program.
- Basic computer literacy for field work, communication, and report generation.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, stoop, or kneel for long periods.
- Capacity to lift and carry equipment and samples weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
- A commitment to maintaining safety standards in all work environments.
