About the role#
The SMBC Summer Intern Program is a 10-week experience for undergraduate students. You will join the Risk Management team to help oversee and monitor risks across the firm. This program serves as a pipeline to our full-time Analyst Program. You will work on projects to improve your understanding of the global banking industry while collaborating with senior management.
What you'll do#
- Build financial models and conduct research.
- Develop client presentations.
- Participate in client meetings.
- Monitor risks across various categories to ensure strong internal controls.
- Engage in orientation training, mentorship, and social networking activities.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration with a graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- You maintain an excellent academic record.
- You have advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You can interact with clients in a professional and mature manner.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- The program runs for 10 weeks starting in June 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- We operate on a hybrid work model. You must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.
- We do not provide sponsorship for this role.
