About the role#
Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is looking for a Civil Engineering student for a Winter 2027 Co-op in our Waltham office. You will work alongside professionals on land development, renovation, and sustainable development projects. This is a full-time, paid position that provides hands-on experience in a consulting engineering environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with engineering tasks across a range of projects, including land development, adaptive re-use, and sustainable development.
- Collaborate with our Geotechnical, Marine, Structural, and Building Technology groups on projects like slope stabilization and drainage systems.
- Organize field data and conduct research to support analysis and repair design.
- Perform analysis using a combination of hand calculations and software under the guidance of licensed professionals.
- Prepare client deliverables such as construction documents, specifications, and written reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering.
- A strong interest in civil engineering and learning through hands-on work.
- A record of high grades in your studies.
- Enthusiasm for developing sophisticated engineering work.
- Strong communication abilities.
