About the role#
We are looking for students to join our Denver office for a Summer 2027 internship. You will work alongside our engineers in the office and in the field to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world structural engineering challenges. This is a full-time, paid position that requires on-site attendance. Please note that this role does not offer sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Assist with construction monitoring, field investigations, condition assessments, and site inspections.
- Perform project drafting, structural design, and analysis using hand calculations and software under the guidance of licensed professionals.
- Analyze materials and support our petrography staff.
- Develop test protocols, design and build testing apparatus, perform tests, and analyze the resulting data.
- Collaborate with engineers to perform reconnaissance on existing structures, conduct field tests, and monitor construction in progress.
- Organize field data and assist with research for problem solving and repair design.
- Prepare client deliverables, including construction documents, specifications, and written reports.
- Note that this work may involve travel and working from heights.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field like materials science or architectural engineering.
- A record of maintaining high grades in your studies.
- A strong interest in gaining hands-on experience within a consulting engineering environment.
- Strong communication abilities.

- Location: Denver, Colorado.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Undergraduate students earn $29.25 to $32.50 per hour, graduate students earn $33.75 to $34.75 per hour, and PhD students earn $36.75 per hour. Interns are also eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
