About the role#
We are looking for students to join our Oakland office for a Summer 2027 internship. You will work alongside experienced professionals in the office and in the field. This role provides hands-on experience where you can apply your classroom knowledge to real-world civil and structural engineering challenges. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with construction monitoring, field investigations, and site inspections.
- Analyze materials and develop test protocols.
- Collaborate with engineers to conduct field tests and monitor construction progress.
- Organize field data and assist with research to support repair design and problem solving.
- Perform analysis using hand calculations and software under the guidance of licensed professionals.
- Assist with the preparation of client deliverables, including reports and construction documents.
- Please note that this work may involve travel and working from heights.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering or Architecture program.
- Strong academic performance.
- A genuine interest in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
- Enthusiasm for hands-on work and solving complex engineering problems.
- Strong communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Oakland, California.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Undergraduate students earn between $29.25 and $32.50 per hour. Graduate students earn between $33.75 and $34.75 per hour. PhD students earn $36.75 per hour. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is provided for technical interns.
