About the role#
This internship offers students enrolled in post-secondary agriculture programs the chance to gain hands-on experience within the Simplot Grower Solutions trade area. You will split your time between operational tasks during the peak season and agronomy-focused duties throughout the growing season.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and organize product movement while assisting with loading and unloading for customers and suppliers.
- Complete loadout tickets for transactions and conduct inventory counts twice a week.
- Maintain the facility yard by mowing grass, clearing debris, and leveling gravel.
- Treat seed as required.
- Scout three assigned fields throughout the growing season and track findings using AgWorld.
- Consult with local agronomists, ACE, or the Agronomy Lead regarding your field observations.
- Support the agPROVE trial program by maintaining field signs, applying products, and capturing trial data.
- Assist with field days and customer tours.
- Participate in ride-alongs with account managers and join the Winfield United Agronomy and Intern Training Program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary agriculture program.
- A valid Class 5 driver license.
- Ability to perform manual labor and tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Capacity to work in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
