About the role#
This internship offers students enrolled in agriculture programs the chance to gain hands-on experience within the Simplot Grower Solutions trade area. You will split your time between operational tasks during the peak season and agronomy duties as the season progresses. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Cardston, Alberta.
What you'll do#
- Manage product movement, organization, and inventory counts twice a week.
- Assist with loading and unloading products, treating seed, and completing customer loadout tickets.
- Maintain the facility yard, including mowing and site upkeep.
- Scout three of your own fields throughout the season using AgWorld software.
- Consult with local agronomists and the Agronomy Lead on scouting findings.
- Support the agPROVE trial program by assisting with data capture, field signing, and customer tours.
- Participate in ride-alongs with Account Managers and Ag Innovation Leads.
- Complete the Winfield United Agronomy and Intern Training Program.
- Support safety initiatives and maintain all required professional licenses.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary agriculture program.
- A valid Class 5 driver license.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to perform manual labor.
- A professional approach to working with team members and customers.
