About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Audit Intern position for Summer 2027. You will report to a manager while working on state audit projects. This role is hybrid and requires authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Develop an understanding of the audit process.
- Analyze and test key elements of state agency financial statements and operations.
- Establish working relationships with client personnel.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver client service.
- Work on a variety of tasks within audit projects.
What you'll need#
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status at the time of the internship.
- Enrollment in an accounting, cost accounting, or auditing program at a college or university.
- Interest in pursuing CPA credentials and an interest in auditing.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a varied team.
- Integrity, servant leadership, and a focus on making a difference.
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- A commitment to following through on tasks and instilling trust.

- Locations: Springfield, Illinois and Alexandria, Virginia.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $29 to $30 per hour.
