Intern, Manufacturing Engineering, Research and Development

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 semester (September through December). You will work within a team environment alongside full-time Manufacturing Engineers to support the production of precision firearm components. This position requires regular on-site attendance in Exeter, New Hampshire.

What you'll do#

• Implement manufacturing processes for new and existing product designs, including providing budgetary estimates for equipment and production rates.
• Utilize project management techniques to procure tooling and equipment to meet launch timelines and cost targets.
• Provide production floor support to maintain output and quality for technical systems, including CNC machining, assembly, metal finishing, and automation.
• Originate, develop, and implement new systems and processes into full production.
• Debug and runoff new capital equipment to meet plant goals for throughput and quality.
• Resolve product and process quality issues using statistical methods.
• Recommend and execute enhancements to improve manufacturing procedures and product quality.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Business Administration.
• Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS or a similar CAD system.
• Working knowledge of materials, heat-treating processes, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong analytical skills and a foundational understanding of project management.
• Ability to communicate complex technical subjects effectively in both written and verbal formats.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
