About the role#
This is a part-time, hourly position for a pharmacy student at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart in Cochrane, Alberta. The role provides practical experience in a community pharmacy setting, focusing on real-world training to supplement academic studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration. You will work under an Associate-Owner while gaining exposure to the expanding roles of a community pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Acknowledge and assist all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Ensure all privacy requirements, including customer confidentiality and consent management, are met.
- Maintain clear visibility to the public while on duty.
- Deliver health, beauty, and convenience services to the community.
- Support the pharmacy team in daily operations and patient care.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a relevant program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- Passion for providing an exceptional shopping and service experience.
- Knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) products, disease state management, and drug therapy.
- Ability to manage the operations of a retail pharmacy.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare workers.

- Location: 120 5th Avenue West, Unit 100, Cochrane, AB.
- Schedule: Part-time, day shifts, rolling term.
- Compensation: $23.20 - $30.25 per hour, based on experience and knowledge.
