About the role#
This is a part-time Pharmacy Intern position at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart in Edmonton. You will work in a community pharmacy setting to gain practical experience while you complete your education. This role focuses on patient interaction, pharmacy operations, and clinical skill development.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Maintain customer confidentiality and manage consent according to privacy requirements.
- Stay clearly identifiable to the public while on duty.
- Practice pharmacy tasks in a community setting.
- Improve your communication skills with patients, staff, and other health care workers.
- Learn about OTC products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- Develop skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy.
